When was the last time you rose, victorious, like a phoenix from the ashes?

Anyone can be burned, crushed, consumed. But not everyone chooses to rise. Grace is the air that turns our cinders to ashes and our ashes to wings. Rise. Then rise again.

The Start of February

I simply can't wear my Chantelle bra anymore =(.  It is too big.  I just washed it and it is hanging up to dry.  Once done, I will retire it from service.  Which means I'm going to have to start wearing my Valentine's Day bra before Valentine's.

Two things I forgot to put on my list for this month were replacing my yoga pants and getting some new socks.  My current yoga pants are falling off.  I went to Walmart and picked up 3 new pairs.  They are not the greatest but since I only wear them around the house, that is okay.  I didn't try them on in the store as there was no one to open the dressing rooms so one pair doesn't fit.  It is a XS but I was thinking I could wear it.  Can't get it over my butt.  So, I'm debating if I want to take it back or just keep it until I can wear it.  The question is, will I ever get that small?

I received some hiking socks for Christmas.  Hiking socks are not cheap, ranging from 12 to 20 dollars for a pair.   But I became quite love enamored with them.  So, when I realized that my current collection of socks was getting low and the ones remaining were showing signs of their age, I decided to replace them with hiking socks.  Not a cheap investment, but I hope a good one.  After some searching around, I managed to find the socks I wanted at the cheapest price of 10.70 a pair.   Shipping was $3 but didn't go up as I added more pairs.  I ended up purchasing 4 pairs to go with the one I already have.  If they hold up, I'll get a few more.  I usually wear about 7 or 8 pairs of socks in a week.

I went to the Eye doctor today and got contacts.  I thought they wouldn't cost me anything but it was $40 for a contact fitting fee and a one time training session fee of $25.  Plus, my insurance only covers 1/2 year worth of contacts.  So, I'll have the pay the other half out of pocket.

I am liking the soft contacts because I can't feel them, unlike hard contact lenses.  However, the contacts don't correct my astigmatism.  I have the opposite trouble with these contacts that I had with the hard ones.  These are easy to put in but hard to take out.

I am worried about how the contacts are going to work out.  My version is fuzzy with the contacts.  I'll need to give it a few days to see if I adjust.   I'm also worried about learning to take them out without a lot of hassle.  My eyes usually adjust slowly.  It took me a few days to get use to my new glasses.  I went ahead and got 1/2 years worth of contacts.  If I like them, I'll buy more but if not, no money lost because my insurance covered the ones I did order.

I got them to see if I think I look better with or without glasses.  My first thought was that my face looks very fat and big without glasses and it didn't look good.  But once I put some eye makeup on, which is needed without the glasses, I'm slowly thinking maybe I do look better without them.  Or, it could be, it is just different and it will take time to tell.

I got my I POD charger which didn't work.  It would cost more to return it then just throw it away so that is what I plan to do.  I ordered another one from someplace else.  This one works!  I also finally ordered a HDMI cable.  I fixed my PS3 (the picture is so much better with a HDMI cable) and now my Wii is hooked back up again.  Yay, for checking things off my list.

Undergarments an Intro

Undergarments are the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night.  They are the first layer you put on over your foundation (body) and they set the tone for everything that is to follow.  It, therefore, makes sense that you would chose your undergarments with care, consideration, and wisedom.  Poorly chosen undergarments can make the best of outter wear go astray.

When you first enter the world of lingerie, it can be quite intimidating.  There are thousands of versions, styles, varieties, sizes, colors, quality, shapes, brands, prices, and terms.  What is the difference between this style and that style - they look the same to me?  What size should I wear?  What style will be the most flattering for my body?  You can spend hours wading though all the options and end up with only a headache for your efforts.  The next few posts are meant to provide a basic guide to lingerie and terms to help you better choose that which will make you your most sexiest.

There is one golden rule to lingerie (and all clothing for that matter) which I will express over and over again throughout this month.  Fit is everything.   Only ever wear something that fits you and fits you well.  If it doesn't fit, it doesn't matter how much you love it or how cute it is - don't buy it.  I promise  you, you can find something just as cute that will fit you properly.

In order to ensure the proper fit, it is vital that you know your size.  Never buy a size 8 when you are a size 10 just because you don't want to buy the size 10.  No one will ever know you are wearing a size 10 instead of an 8 but people will be able to tell if you are wearing something too small (or too big) and it will not look good.

Once you have obtained items that fit properly, then and only then, can you focus on style.  With style you should start with cuts that flatter your figure.  For that group, focus on the colors that flatter your complexion.  Anything that has passed the test at this point is fair game.  Winners should be those remaining items which suit your personal tastes and personality the best.

Some say that wearing sexy lingerie under your clothing is the key to feeling sexy.  I'm not sure if it is true or not, but it can't hurt either way.  And, I do know this, wearing beautiful clothing will always make you feel better and more confident.

The Theme For February Is: Beauty - Improving Your Physical Self

My plan for January was to not blog anything negative.  I did that but I also planned to blog every day, which I didn't.  My experiment was to see if thinking positively really does make a difference in how you feel and outcomes in life.  It doesn't.  Other than the first four days in January, the month was pretty bad but I'm not going to focus on that.  I'm going to look forward.

2013 is the year I have big big plans and hope to see some good changes in my life.  What I have accomplished in the first month of 2013 is the following:

  • Only blogged about the positive
  • Have taken the time to read almost every night (which was a goal for this year)
  • Can now jog for 30 minutes straight and do so twice a day (for 1 hours of jogging daily)
  • Lost 2 pounds
  • Lost 2% Body Fat
  • Gained 2% Body Muscle
  • Almost always wear a size small top
  • Purchased a pair of very tight 9/10 jeans
  • Learned that my bra size is no longer a 32F but a 30FF
  • Planned, Booked, and Paid for my trip to Canada which is coming up
  • Purchased a whole set of ski clothes for my trip to Canada for a good price - let's just say I'm thrilled I could even fit into the ski clothes as ski clothes for bigger people are HARD to come by
  • Started the process of Laser Hair Removal on my Face.  It will be, at least, 6 months before it is complete.
  • Finally removed the two moles on my back that were bothering me
  • Have an appointment this weekend to discuss contacts
  • Have another appoint on Monday about getting a bump, caused by a busted mucus cell, on my lip removed
  • Purchased some very nice and sexy lingerie
  • Managed to acquire some new winter clothes while ridding myself of those that are too big
I recently had the displeasure of coming across this blog: The Rules Revisited.

It's like a train wreak, you want to look away but you can't help but stare.  The site confirms what I always knew about guys but hoped beyond hope that I was wrong.  Basically, it outlines how truly shallow guys are.  It gives advice to women for how best to get a man (do everything in your power to look hot) and, I'm sad to say, I think it is dead on.

When I first read the blog I swore I thought it was G's secret blog but the guy who writes it thinks just like G does.  It isn't but still it does help give more insight into G.  Not that I think he or the blog's author are right in their belief.  I think they are wrong and I think their believe is going to end with them never being happy because if you chase outward beauty,  it it like chasing a snowflake.  It is beautiful but it's life is short and once you catch it it disappears.

If I had the time I would love to write a sister blog to this guys - similar but advice for guys from a woman's prospective focusing on the shallow elements like looks, success, career, power, and money.

But, any-who, that blog is what prompted me to make this month "Beauty - Improving Your Physical Self".  Mostly, this is a way for me to gather my thoughts and keep myself on track but others out there might find the information useful.

I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to improve your outward appearance.
  1. It helps you feel mentally better about yourself
  2. It helps you be healthier
  3. Which in turn, helps you feel physically better about yourself
  4. It makes people treat you better
  5. It makes you more desirable to males
  6. Which in turn, helps increase your chance of getting a mate if that is your goal
So, below is an outline of topics I want to address.  Probably not in this order and I'm sure I will be adding topics, but this is a start:
